  • Meet Dr. Vázquez

    Roshnee Vázquez, PhD is a licensed psychologist with over 10 years experience. Dr. Vázquez is licensed to provide psychological services in the states of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. She is able to provide telehealth services in the state of Florida. Dr. Vázquez has special interest and expertise in perinatal mental health, women's health, life transitions, severe depression, mood disorders, managing intense emotions, recovery/sobriety, and LGBTQ+ mental health. She has specialized training around multiculturalism and social justice issues as they pertain to mental health. She approaches her work from a strengths based perspective with the aim of empowering individuals while they tackle areas they want to change or improve.

    Dr. Vázquez received her bachelor’s degree from The College of New Jersey and her doctorate from Columbia University. She began her career with a predoctoral internship at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital where she had specialized training in personality disorders, bipolar illness, and psychotic illness. She moved on to a postdoctoral fellowship in university mental health at Montclair State University. She worked at several major New York City hospitals, with specific focuses on substance abuse treatment, LGBTQ+ mental health, and Dialectical Behavioral treatment. Additionally, Dr. Vázquez developed expertise in maternal mental health and the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. She brings this myriad of experiences to her private practice.

    During Dr. Vázquez’s career she has worked to ensure she provides individuals with the most sustainable and high-quality care. In that pursuit, she considers flexibility in approach to be a key ingredient in committing to the work and remaining in treatment. This has been particularly important when working with individuals employed in high-stress, high-demands professions and with complex lifestyles.
